Lee Byung-heon, Jeon Ji-hyun

  • Lee Byung-heon (Squid Game 3) and Jeon Ji-hyun (Jirisan) have been tapped to star in The Koreans (working title), in a remake of the similarly titled US series The Americans. Production for the period crime-thriller is in the early stages, with PD Ahn Gil-ho (The Glory, Genie Make a Wish) attached to direct. If both actors accept, this will notably mark a 26-year reunion from 1999(!), when the two played siblings in SBS’s drama Happy Together. [Osen, Sports Kyunghyang]
  • In the meantime, Jeon Ji-hyun will soon be landing on our screens in Disney+’s Tempest on September 10 next week. Preparing for the storm ahead in the latest poster and video teaser, the spy romance also stars Kang Dong-won (Uprising, Magic), John Cho (The Sympathizer), and Oh Jung-se (Good Boy) among other talents in the stacked lineup.   • tvN’s Spring Fever continues casting news as well, confirming Cha Seo-won (Unintentional Love Story), Jo Joon-young (Crushology 101), and Lee Jae-in (Our Unwritten Seoul). With Ahn Bo-hyun (Flex x Cop) and Lee Joo-bin (Twelve) headlining the rom-com, the webnovel-adaptation has been re-slated to air in early 2026 with PD Park Won-gook (Marry My Husband) directing and writing by Kim Ah-jung (The Secret Life of My Secretary).   • On ENA, we get our first look at Jeon Yeo-bin (Our Movie) as our Ms. Incognito in the crime-romance’s first posters and trailer. Also starring Jinyoung (Who Is She), Seo Hyun-woo (Our Movie), Jang Yoon-ju (Queen of Tears), and Joo Hyun-young (The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract), the series will be coming to our screens on September 29, following My Troublesome Star in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
